Yes indeedy.

As you might have guessed, I love art and creativity, especially in the form of animation and comics; finding out it was possible to study the former at a university level was a real eye-opener, and I've been persuing it ever since. I might not be great at it (well ... I certainly amn't, to be more accurate), but I can see an improvement every time I give it another go, so something must be working.

After art, my greatest love is music: unfortunately I have no talents in this whatsoever, but I am pretty damn good at wearing headphones. I'd like to say that I have a fairly wide variety of music in my iTunes, though the majority routes back to punk and metal ... my dad introduced me to Nirvana back in about 1995, and it's all been downhill from there!

I'm also pretty big on animals. Not so much being an animal rights bashing, research centre bombing vegan or anything - I believe new cures to illnesses are a good thing, and do enjoy a good steak - but, uhr, basically, I'm a bit of a softie really. If it has big round eyes and soft fur, I will stop and gape, even in front of traffic. Which has almost caused me some serious problems before. Ahem ...

Photos! I'm sure you're curious, really ...
Myself Member of a MIGHTY horde! Two of the men in my life! ... and the other one!

I've been making very simple websites on and off since about the age of 13 ... the majority of these have been simple GeoCities affairs, but for the last couple of years I have been trying to create a slightly more professional appearence upon the web. (This might not seem particularly professional, but compared to the earlier ones ... oh, you'd be surprised.)
My first venture into that good old paid webspace + domain-name combo was the rather disasterously named Posed-to-Death.Com ... it got the point across, but it eventually got to the point where the name was not only hard to tell people, but slightly embarassing. This current incarnation came about just before my first venture into comic convetions in May 2007, where I was selling artwork prints and decided it'd be a good idea to have business cards available, and I really wanted something a bit more professional sounding to put under my name. Even if people never seem to be able to spell my ridiculously simple 3-syllable name, it's probably slightly more memorable, if not just less cringey.

The site itself was created in Adobe PhotoShop CS2, also using Adobe DreamWeaver, and Flash in previous versions. It is hosted on 123-reg.co.uk, who also provided the domain name. Not bad service at all, either!

Here are some previous versions of this site, plus others I have worked on ..
GailMcColl.Co.Uk

The Flash navigation bar The full index page As before, with one image expanded and another hovered over. A simple comic portfolio page, using the same Highslide coding as here!
